28 Squared Studios released on Friday, March 15, the trailer of the cross-country romance drama film “Under Parallel Skies”, starring Thai actor Win Metawin and Filipino actress Janella Salvador.
In a post shared by the production house, the trailer follows the story of a bachelor named Parin, played by Thai actor Win Metawin, who is on a quest to find his missing mother in Hong Kong, bumps into a Filipino hotelier, Iris, who is portrayed by Janella Salvador.
As their fate intertwines, Iris helps Parin to navigate love, heartbreak, and healing in the foreign city amid their differences in culture and identity. Both characters eventually fall in love with each other.
In an interview with Manila Standard Entertainment, Richard Juan, the film’s executive producer and CEO of 28 Squared Studios, expressed his enthusiasm that Filipino fans will get to love the film.
“I’m feeling very positive, especially having some great feedback from the [Hong Kong] audience,” said Richard.
“My fear initially when we had the HK premiere [was] that the film would be too Filipino or too SEA na taste but the fact that we received a lot of positive comments made me feel really positive coming in. Kasi if they think this is good na, I’m sure Filipinos would feel it even more,” he added.
The movie have its world premiere at APM in Hong Kong on March 11 as the finale program of the 17th Asian Film Awards (AFA).
Lead star Win also received the Rising Star award at the awarding ceremony of AFA. He is the first Thai actor to receive the said award.
When asked on what the movie fans should expect from “Under Parallel Skies,” he shared, “I think this movie has everything—comedy, drama, and romance.”
Produced by 28 Squared Studios in co-production with Two Infinity Entertainment, “Under Parallel Skies” is directed by award-winning film director Sigrid Bernardo.
“Under Parallel Skies” will be distributed by Warner Bros. in three countries including the Philippines on April 17, Singapore on May 1, and Thailand on May 9.
