The House of Representatives has achieved a record 94.7 percent performance rating in terms of passing priority bills identified by President Marcos and the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC).

The Senate, on the other hand, logged only a 31.6 percent performance rating, House Majority Leader and Zamboanga City Rep. Jose Dalipe said.

“Under Speaker Martin Romualdez’s leadership, we have done our part in supporting the President’s legislative, prosperity and economic development agenda, whose goal is to make life better for every Filipino,” Dalipe said.

“We have considered, deliberated on and passed all of the President’s priority bills and almost all of the LEDAC measures with a deep sense of urgency, which unfortunately was obviously not shared by our Senate colleagues,” he added.

Dalipe said the House is committed to pass the remaining three bills on the LEDAC list, namely the proposed amendments to the Electric Power Industry Reform Act, the Budget Modernization Bill, and the National Defense Act.

The House has since passed 54 out of 57 total LEDAC bills on third and final reading.

Dalipe said the Senate has passed only 18 out of the 57 or 31.6 percent.

He said the House has approved on third and final reading all 17 priority bills listed by the President in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) in July last year.

“Performance: House, 17 passed out of 17 or 100 percent; Senate, 5 passed out of 17 or 29.4 percent,” Dalipe said.

He added the House is also treating the proposed economic amendments to the Constitution with the same sense of urgency.

However, Dalipe lamented that reforming the Constitution, like legislation, was “moving at a snail’s pace” in the Senate.
