P34-m road rehab done in Calapan

THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the P34- million rehabilitation and improvement  of the Calapan South Road project in Oriental Mindoro.

DPWH Region IV-B director Gerald Pacanan said that the project involves the replacement of damaged pavement stretching 1.4 kilometers, construction of road shoulders on both sides, and the application of reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings for enhanced safety.

Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan said the improved road project will serve as an effective alternative route, and reduce travel time by one-half, or from 20 to 10 minutes. “We cannot emphasize enough the importance of regular road maintenance, especially along national highways that serve thousands of commuters daily, these projects ensure the safety and convenience of all road users,” the DPWH official said.
