The Dutertes’ alleged ouster plot against President Marcos would not only be self-serving but is also a demonstration of their hunger for power, according to labor leader Leody De Guzman.
The labor leader, also known as “Ka Leody,” slammed the threats of former president Rodrigo Duterte and his son Mayor Sebastian Duterte against Marcos, saying that it was a “naked display of self-interest.”
“Hindi pagmamahal sa bayan ang pinagmumulan ni meyor Baste Duterte sa kanyang hamon kay BBM kundi pag-ibig sa kapangyarihan,” De Guzman said in a statement on Tuesday.
For the labor leader, the Dutertes want to install Vice President Sara Duterte into Malacañang through constitutional succession by ousting Marcos.
“Walang hiya. Naked display of self-interest. BBM resign means Sara for president due to constitutional succession,” De Guzman said.
“Lumakas ang kanyang loob at kumapal ang kanyang mukha dahil sa lumabas na sarbey, na nagsasabing lyamado o nakakalamang ang kanyang kapatid sa 2028 presidential elections,” the labor leader stressed.
But De Guzman warned the Dutertes not to push their luck too far, reminding them that former Vice President Jejomar Binay was also leading the surveys at first but suffered a downward spiral in the surveys.
“Adelantado ang pagmamayabang ng anak ng sanggano ng Davao. Dapat siyang paalalahanan kung paano nalaglag si VP Binay mula 2010 hanggang 2016 mula sa kanyang matayog na ranking sa mga survey,” De Guzman said.
“‘Self serving’ nga ang panukala ni Baste na mag-resign si BBM. Dahil ang ibig sabihin nito ay aandar ang “constitutional succession” at ang kanyang kapatid na si Sara ang awtomatikong hinirangin bilang pangulo!” the labor leader reiterated.
