Indulge in your hotel buffet fix for under P1,000

Filipinos are spoiled for choice when it comes to buffet options in Metro Manila – from high-end hotel spreads that cost an arm and a leg to all-you-can-eat grilled meat restaurants complete with a wide array of side dishes.

Tucked in a quiet corner of Manila Prince Hotel is Marcelino Café, which promises an exceptional eat-all-you-can dining experience to its patrons.

Whether you are a hotel guest or simply a foodie looking for more bang for your buck, the hotel buffet has got you covered, and all for only P899 per person.

The buffet spread starts even before you enter the main dining hall of Marcelino Café, which was extended to accommodate more customers.

The Korean, Japanese, appetizer and dessert stations greet dining customers first. In other buffet options, these stations would have already comprised the entire spread.

There was a sushi boat and two choices of sashimi for lunch, bulgogi, kimchi, several deli and bite-sized appetizers. The wakame salad and the kani salad were delicious, healthy sides to all the other indulgent dishes in the buffet.

Roast chicken and porchetta

The desserts include several kinds of kakanin, fresh fruits, chocolate barks, and cakes. The fact that the sweets are positioned right before the entrance of the main dining hall is a curious if not empowering choice – you can start and end your culinary journey with dessert. No questions asked. No judgment passed.

Inside the cafe, dimsum choices, including a pig-shaped bun that was too cute to eat, invite customers to eat some more. There are Filipino and Mediterranean choices – from porchetta to curry dishes.

There are at least four kinds of pastas to choose from, as well as different kinds of tempura and Filipino street food dishes such as kwek kwek, fish balls, squid balls and kikiam.

“We are excited to welcome even more guests as we introduce our expanded menu and dining space at Marcelino Cafe,” said Ester Joy Yap, Manila Prince Hotel’s food and beverage assistant director.
