New barangay infrastructures in Puerto Princesa inaugurated

The Mega Apurado Administration, under the supervision of City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron, is busy with the inauguration and groundbreaking of government infrastructure projects in Puerto Princesa’s barangays.

This Jan. 5,. Bayron circled 18 projects to lead their inaugurations and groundbreakings. Among the projects is constructing the Melwang breakwater with embarkment and slope protection in Barangay Lucbuan. The breakwater has a length of 76.40 meters and costs more than P1.9 million from the 2023 general fund of the city government. The breakwater is essential to prevent land erosion towards the sea, especially during high tide and rainy season.

Councilor Judith Raine Bayron asked the residents of Barangay Lucbuan to take care of the project to benefit more in the long run.

In the meantime, eight interconnected roads will form the Kaakbayan Road Network with the drainage system in Barangay Tiniguiban. The road has a length of 1,418.19 linear meters, while the drainage has 3,837.27 linear meters. The project costs about P41.3 million from the government’s general fund. The local government estimates the project’s completion by October 2024.

Bayron also requested that the concreting and drainage system be done faster so the rainy season does not catch up.

Assinstant City Engr. Aries Grande is proud of the leveled up the asphalting unit of City Engineering today. All asphalting overlay projects of the City Government are done by the administration now the city has its asphalt plant.

The asphalt overlay project will be done on Castro Road, Bgy. San Pedro and San Juan Road in Barangay San Miguel. The asphalt overlay on Castro Road has a length of 279.10 linear meters, a width of 6.10 meters, and a thickness of 50 mm, costing around P2.3 million. Meanwhile, San Juan Road, Barangay San Miguel, has a length of 340.90 linear meters and costs about P2.8 million from the general fund.

The site development around the indoor court at the Sports Complex will also continue with the concrete laying-by, parking, and sidewalk, costing more than P3 million.

Meanwhile, expect more infrastructure projects in the city, especially in February with the BIG BANG implemented by the Mega Urgent Administration.
