Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) chairman Lance Gokongwei will serve as president and chief executive of the property developer after his cousin Frederic Go resigned to become the special assistant to the President for investment and economic affairs with a Cabinet rank.
Gokongwei is also the president and chief executive of JG Summit Holdings Inc., the parent company of RLC. He will serve as head of RLC effective Jan. 8, 2024.
RLC said its board of directors accepted Go’s resignation and appointed Faraday Go as its newest member.
Go also resigned as a board director and chairman of Altus Property Ventures Inc. and RL Commercial REIT Inc.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday issued Executive Order (EO) No. 49, creating investment and economic affairs to boost the formulation, coordination and implementation of various government economic initiatives.
Go, who will have the rank of secretary, would also serve as chairperson of the Economic Development Group (EDG), with the secretaries of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and Department of Finance (DOF) as vice chairpersons.
