Two Rizal cities, Antipolo and Tanay, won big at the recently concluded 49th Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PCB&E) of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) held from Oct. 25 to 26 at The Manila Hotel.

Antipolo won the award for the Most Business-Friendly Component City, while Tanay took home the recognition for Most Business-Friendly LGU – Municipality Level 1.

Rizal Provincial Gov. Nina Ynares lauded the cities for making Rizal a business-friendly province that could open new opportunities for the local economy.

In the meantime, Antipolo Mayor Jun Ynares celebrated the win while noting that the city won the award fair and square as it also emphasizes the trust their constituents give them in governing Rizal.

According to Architect Feleno “Jun” A. Palafox, Jr., this year’s Chairman of the 49th PBC&E, the conference gathered thought leaders, policymakers, national and LGU executives, top business leaders, and international leaders for an interesting two-day discussion and sharing of insights geared toward achieving the 2050 vision of turning the Philippines into a world-class economy.

The award comes at the heels of Rizal Antipolo City local government and the provincial government of Rizal gaining recognition during the 2023 Philippine Creativity and Competitiveness Summit spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), held last Sept. 28, to give due credit to the best-performing cities and provinces in the country.

The Rizal provincial governor also announced that Rizal was recognized as the TOP 1 Most Competitive Province in the country for the 8th straight year.
