The eco-friendly items are now available in Uniqlo stores across Japan and online at uniqlo.com.

The “Join: The Power of Clothing” campaign connects fashion with sustainability, emphasizing responsible consumer choices. Uniqlo, through its parent company Fast Retailing, will donate $1 to UNESCO for every purchase of eligible campaign products, which include Doraemon Sustainability Mode items and other recycled polyester fleece products.

The funds will support UNESCO’s global initiative to combat ocean pollution and raise awareness through educational programs.

To promote awareness of marine debris, a dedicated website accompanies the campaign, featuring expert interviews, informative videos, and practical tips on reducing plastic waste. It also reports on how donations made since 2022, totaling approximately $3 million, have been utilized.

Doraemon, the beloved cat-type robot from manga and anime, plays a crucial role in the campaign as a global sustainability ambassador. He exemplifies how sustainable actions can be akin to secret gadgets, transforming the world into a better place for all.

Uniqlo’s 2023 Fall/Winter collection marks the conclusion of the Doraemon Sustainability Mode series, serving as a testament to the brand’s commitment to sustainability and its partnership with UNESCO in the fight against marine debris.
