Cops arrest 11 Chinese over alleged trafficking

The Southern Police District arrested 11 Chinese nationals in Paranaque City over alleged involvement in human trafficking.

The police operation took place at Unit 1811, 18th Floor, SoleMare Parksuites in Barangay Baclaran following the issuance of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Jaime Guray of the Regional Trial Court, Parañaque City.

One of the suspects was identified as Lin Shengjie, also known as “Boss Lin or Lin Wei,” 32, who faces complaints for violation of Republic Act 10591 and RA 9208. His accomplice, Xiao Ji, alias “Boss Kee” is currently at large and is now the subject of a manhunt operation.

Those arrested also include Chinese nationals identified only by their aliases Weichao, Liulizhang, Honghualiang, Luyzhenggang, Zhangmingpeng, Pengke, Dengchaofan, Cai Deqiang, and Chujunyi, and their 48-year-old Filipino cohort named Arlene Lapurga Geron.

The operation also resulted in the seizure of handguns, .45 caliber live ammunition, one black rifle bag, two M16 rifle black magazines, 50 M16 live ammunition, two digital counting machines, laptop computers, one black hard envelope, one black bag with foreign markings containing different sex paraphernalia, one bracelet box with 13 bracelets, three black radios, and one charger.

Also confiscated were 4,600 pieces of 1,000 peso bills amounting to P4,600,000; 20 Philippine peso bills in different denominations; 270 different foreign currencies; and one iPhone 14 ProMax.
