The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), with Senator  Imee Marcos’ backing, introduces the Young Creatives Challenge (YC2), a grand showcase of Filipino innovation.

YC2 aims to train the spotlight on the brilliance of creative minds across various domains like songwriting, screenwriting, playwriting, graphic novels, animation, game development, and online content creation.

This competition serves as a platform for exceptionally gifted individuals, offering them opportunities for personal and professional growth. Participants can gain recognition, exposure, valuable networks, and partnerships.

The DTI invites Filipino citizens aged 18 to 35, regardless of experience, to join as individuals or teams. Original creations are a must, and the theme is intentionally broad, allowing participants to explore any subject matter.

On September 24, the DTI will launch the competition with a livestreamed event on its Facebook page, bringing together prospective participants, colleges, universities, collaborators, and potential producers from the private sector.

The semi-finals are set for October, where the Top 30 creators and Top 10 Grand Finalists will be celebrated. In November, the grand finals will conclude the competition, with Grand Finalists receiving cash prizes, substantial promotions, intellectual property registration, and potential production or commercialization opportunities.

Aligned with the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act (RA 11904), the DTI is dedicated to supporting creative industries. The Young Creatives Challenge is one of several government initiatives in this regard.
