STAR for All Seasons Vilma Santos-Recto is starring in a new film titled When I Met You in Tokyo, alongside her favorite leading man Christopher de Leon. There’s a strong hope that this film will be included in the upcoming 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival.
The annual festival is expected to be filled with star-studded attractions, considering the confirmed entries such as the movies of Sharon Cuneta-Alden Richards (A Mother and Son’s Story), Dingdong Dantes-Marian Rivera (Rewind), Derek Ramsay-Beauty Gonzalez (K(ampon)), and Matteo Guidicelli-Cristine Reyes (Penduko).
Hopeful for a spot in the entries, she underscores MMFF’s Christmas appeal for movie enthusiasts. If chosen, their film’s Christmas scene adds intrigue to a simple yet beautiful love story, enhanced by her collaboration with Boyet.
Shot significantly in Japan, they’re in the final post-production stages, aiming for perfection. Despite challenges, the smooth shoot reflected their dedication to their roles. She commends the dependable, harmonious crew that contributed to their successful execution.
Her screen partnership with Christopher is tried and tested. They starred in many films which were not only box-office hits but critically acclaimed as well. Here in their latest project, can she say that their chemistry is still the same?
“Oh, yes! It’s still there after all these times. Actually, Boyet and I feel that it’s much better now because we’re more mature. You just can’t explain it. Chemistry is innate. It naturally comes out on screen,” Vilma states.
“That’s why until now, Boyet and I are still doing a movie. If we’re lucky to reach 85 years old, I wonder if we can still do potboilers together. Our chemistry is the magic secret,” she ends.

Until now, Bea Alonzo couldn’t believe that she’s finally engaged to Dominic Roque. According to the popular actress, they’re still in the stage of savoring their engagement, the reason why she doesn’t have a concrete answer yet as to when they will officially tie the knot.
“When Dom and I talk now, we are still processing the feeling of being engaged. We know we can’t go back to this feeling so we don’t want to get stressed when it comes to planning the wedding. In fact, we still haven’t tapped a wedding planner,” she reveals.
Even the wedding theme or venue, they haven’t discussed yet.
“What we do right now is watch wedding videos so we can get tips when we start to plan our own. But as of now, we’re still enjoying our being engaged. What’s definite is it will be an intimate affair!”
Many are curious if she will invite perennial screen partner John Lloyd Cruz on her special day.
“Of course! He will definitely be on the list. Actually, he’s one of the first ones who congratulated me. He said that he’s happy for me and that’s touching,” Bea states.
