Las Pinas City—Reigning National Collegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Player Louie Ramirez of the Perpetual Altas Spikers is scheduled to train in Japan for three weeks to increase his knowledge and boost his skills in the game of volleyball. Ramirez, accompanied by assistant coach Macky Cariño, will train in Japan on the invitation of the Oita Miyoshi Wessie Adler Volleyball Team, based in Oita City.
Dr. Atsushi Moyoshi, owner of the Oita Miyoshi Wessie Adler Volleyball Team expects the 6’3” opposite spiker from Malimpin, Dasol, Pangasinan to be in the city on or before August 16. He will train for 3 weeks with the team.
“Masaya po ako, kasi madadagdagan yung knowledge ko sa volleyball at nakaka proud po, kasi maraming malalakas na players dito sa atin sa Pilipinas bukod po sa akin, pero ako po ‘yung na-invite para mag training, sobrang excited din po ako na makakapunta ako ng Japan. (I am happy, because I will learn more in volleyball and I am proud, because there are many strong players here in the Philippines besides me, but I was the one who was invited to train, I am also very excited that I will be able to go to Japan),” Ramirez said.
Dr. Moyoshi, in a message, reiterated that their team is interested in establishing a relationship with players like Ramirez for possible future endeavors.
Perpetual Altas Spikers’ head coach said Sinfronio ‘Sammy’ Acaylar, Oita Miyoshi team will provide airfare, transportation in Japan, accommodation and meals with the help of the Tamayo Family especially Chairman Tony Tamayo, President Dr. Anthony Tamayo and Vice President for Sports Anton. Tamayo.
“I allowed Louie to trained abroad para mas lalo siyang gumaling at marami pang matutunan sa larong volleyball na madadala nya dito sa team, sa NCAA at sa bansa,” coach Acaylar said.
