The Department of Environment and Natural Resources held a three-day photo exhibit June 27-29, 2023 at SM City Bataan in Balanga City of the ongoing rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
Paula Erika Gayeta, SM City Bataan public relations officer, said the exhibit showcased different photographs and reminders on the rehabilitation of Manila Bay through mangrove planting and river and coastal cleanups.
The project, she said, aimed at raising awareness about the rich natural resources and environmental assets of Bataan. The exhibit is a collaborative undertaking between DENR and SM City Bataan.
“The photo display also meant to educate mall-goers about the restoration of the ecological balance, improvement of water quality and preserving the rich diversity in the rehabilitation of Manila Bay,” she said.
Gayeta hopes the exhibit imparted to the public the importance of safeguarding the environment and sustainable practices.
“The Manila Bay photo exhibit gives importance to the rivers and mangroves and the diverse ecosystems that make Bataan a true haven of biodiversity. DENR’s partnership with SM City Bataan is significant for addressing environmental challenges collectively and nurturing sustainability,” she added.
