Basketball player and actor Ricci Rivero finally broke his silence amid breakup rumors and cheating allegations with Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes.
In a Twitter post shared by Ricci on Friday, June 9, he seemed to confirm that he and Andrea have decided to go their separate ways and asked the public to respect both of their decisions to keep their breakup private.
“I own up to the mistake of not making my relationship status public because I felt there’s no need to add up to what we’re going through. Please respect our decision to keep it to ourselves so that we can preserve [what’s] left of our friendship,” said the UAAP basketball star.
He also addressed the cheating allegations and asked netizens to stop spreading false accusations.
“I hope let’s stop creating your own versions and dragging other characters into these false accusations. I am sorry for whatever disappointments it may have caused you for everyone’s peace of mind, please allow ourselves to heal and move on peacefully without hate and pain,” stated Ricci.
The breakup rumors began when Andrea did not post a birthday greeting for Ricci on her Instagram. Speculations of him cheating escalated when he posted a now-deleted Instagram story showing him with beauty queen-politician Leren Mae Bautista.
Last year, the basketball star made waves on the internet when he publicly proposed to Andrea to be his girlfriend after his University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball game.
Before dating Ricci, Andrea was in a relationship with her Kadenang Ginto co-star Seth Fedelin. As of now, the actress has not confirmed or commented on the breakup.
