With foreboding rain clouds hovering over them, tomatoes are left to rot on the vine Brgy Bila, Bokod, Benguet, as low wholesale prices of around three pesos a kilo for tomatoes has forced farmers here to abandon their matured produce. A wholesale price of 50 pesos a kilo would be sufficient to cover farmers’ expenses and profits for one tomato-planting season, locals said.
