The Malate Church pictured here was recently declared an important cultural property by the National Museum of the Philippines in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 374 and Republic Act No. 10066. The 435-year old Mexican-Baroque styled church was considered a qualifier under the law, under the category of Spanish colonial era church complexes.
