The positivity rate refers to the percentage of people who were found

positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested.

The daily average of cases also dipped to 103 on January 19 from 166 on January 12, David said.

The average daily attack rate (ADAR) in the region decreased to 0.71 per 100,000 population, he said.

ADAR is the incidence showing the average number of new cases in a period per 100,000 people.

“Testing in the NCR has decreased to just 38 per day per 100k, the lowest since 2020,” David said.

David said the NCR’s hospital occupancy remained low at 24 percent, while the intensive care units (ICU) occupancy also remained low at 19 percent.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday registered 251 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally dropped to 10,863.

This was the fifth straight day that there were fewer than 300 COVID-19 cases.

The active tally also went down to 10,863 from 11,031 on Wednesday.
