The reality competition Drag Den Philippines finally revealed the first season’s cast and its premiere date on December 8.
The official trailer introduced the eight contestants together with the “Drag Runner” social media star Sassa Gurl and “Drag Dealer” Miss Grand International 2016 First Runner-Up Nicole Cordoves. The show was hosted by its “Drag Lord” Manila Luzon, a RuPaul’s Drag Race star.
“This is the Drag Lord speaking. I just want to inform you that after years and years and years of searching, I finally found it [contestants]!” Luzon said sitting on a throne in an underground-themed trailer, which dropped on Thursday, November 17.
The eight queen contestants include O-A, Maria Cristina, Aries Night, Barbie-Q, Shewarma, Pura Luka Vega, Naia, and Lady Gagita.
“As a trans person in the cis-dominated world of filmmaking and entertainment, your support for our show means so much! Please also support our Queens and use the hashtag #DragDenPH,” One of the creative directors and producers of the show Rod Singh tweeted.
In one of her tweets, the director said they only dropped the first promo look, and there are still more surprises for the fans.
Singh also assured that Drag Den Philippines was 100% Filipino-produced. The reality competition was produced by Cornerstone and Project 8 with its directors, Antoinette Jadaone and Singh.
Drag Den Philippines will be available for streaming on Prime Video Philippines during its premiere date on December 8.
Drag Den with Manila Luzon became the talk of the town last year. The auditionees’ entries were posted on Tiktok, which ran from August 16 to 31, 2021.
