Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) said passenger traffic at the Clark International Airport jumped 282 percent in the first eight months of the year, boosted by the recovery of travel industry.
LIPAF said passenger traffic reached 434,214 from January to August, with 363,878 flying to overseas destinations and 70,336 traveling to domestic sites.
Domestic passengers surged 282 percent, while international passengers expanded 513 percent compared to last year’s.
Noel Manankil, chief executive of LIPAD, saw the rising numbers as positive signs of recovery by the travel industry and the attraction of the use of the new CRK terminal to travelers.
“Clark achieved these milestones by basically following the countries that are opening their borders,” said Manankil.
