Disney released the first teaser for the upcoming series Percy Jackson and the Olympians at the D23 Expo 2022, finally giving fans a look inside Camp Half-Blood.
In the one-minute teaser, Percy Jackson (played by Walker Scobell) is seen walking inside the camp, narrating the iconic lines of the first page of Rick Riordan’s book.
“Look, I didn’t want to be a Half-Blood. Being a Half-Blood is dangerous. It’s scary. Most of the time it gets you killed. If you think you might be one of us, my advice is… turn away while you still can. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth. Try to live a normal life, because once you know what you are, they’ll sense it too, and they’ll come for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
In Riordan’s books, Percy is a 12-year-old demigod and son of Poseidon, who was accused of stealing the lightning bolt of the Greek god Zeus.
Riordan took part in co-writing the series pilot along with Jon Steinberg.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is expected to be released sometime in 2024.
