TUGUEGARAO CITY – As the province of Cagayan continues its reputation of being a promising locale backed by a growth curve in the economy, it has attracted more foreign investors here.
Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba earlier strengthen the link of transformational direction” for the province “to be the International Gateway to East Asia and the Pacific.”
The strategic location of the province makes it easily accessible to air, land, and sea transit.
”With the significant advancements it will open doors and connection of the province and strengthen its role in facilitating trade and global markets that will open opportunities not only to the present but to our future generations, Mamba said.
Foreign Investors came over and keep coming back to be in venture with the province’s lined-up projects that include the Cagayan International Seaport and Heavy Industries in Aparri, the Cagayan International Airport in Piat, the Cagayan Smart City in Tuao, and the Double Track Railway System from Aparri to Piat.
We need to take advantage of these developing projects with them (foreign investors) who are willing to construct huge ventures in the province without a sovereign guarantee. The Provincial Local Government of Cagayan will be co-owners since it will provide the lot for the erection of these various projects.
Yet we are fortunate that several foreign investors are interested to invest in our province considering the strategic location being adjacent to the booming and progressive countries in Pacific Asia and across the globe like China, Korea, and Japan, the governor added.
It will be the entry and exit point of products and passengers going to and from the progressive countries. Moreover, the province eyes to facilitate direct and cost-efficient cargo shipping and international shipping hubs.
The governor cited that the first step will be approval from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for him to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Kumpulan Corporation, the investors for the feasibility study.
Relatively, the Provincial Board called for a Special Session on August 25 for the approval of the MOA but unfortunately, there was no quorum.
Mamba expressed disappointment over the delayed approval of the MOA due to the non-attendance of the majority of the Provincial Board.
.
We need is to be united as leaders and support these kinds of projects not for our interest but instead, for the future of our youth in the province, Mamba stressed.
(Kailangan anang ama ng lalawigan na magka-isa silang mga lider ng lalawigan na suportahan ang mga ganitong mga proyekto hindi para sa kanilang interes kundi para sa kinabukasan ng mga kabataang Cagayanos.)
Residents as well said that the leaders in the province must give their full support to the projects proposed by Governor Mamba, whom they have perceived and proven as a visionary leader.
Politics should be set aside for the best interest of the present and future generations of Cagayan as this will give opportunities to the people of Cagayan.
It will be the future generation to reap the benefits of this vibrant project, Mamba disclosed.
