The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced that a portion of Tomas Claudio Street in Manila will be closed to vehicular traffic to give way to the Skyway Stage 3 construction activities beginning Friday (Aug. 5) until Nov. 30.
In its advisory, the MMDA urged motorists to take alternate routes.
Those coming from Valenzuela Street in Sta. Mesa going to Quirino Avenue or Beata Street, Pandacan are advised to take Ramon Magsaysay Avenue, turn left at Lacson Avenue (formerly Nagtahan), straight ahead to Quirino Avenue or turn left at Jesus Street to point of their destination.
Vehicles from Osmeña Highway going to Valenzuela Street, Sta. Mesa, on the other hand, may go straight ahead to Quirino Avenue to Mabini Bridge and to the bridge down ramp turn right at Ramon Magsaysay Avenue, turn right at Valenzuela Street to destination.
Motorists from Osmeña Highway going to Beata Street, Pandacan are advised to go straight ahead to Quirino Avenue and turn right at Tomas Claudio Street to their destination.
Light vehicles coming from Beata Street, Pandacan to Quirino Avenue may take Tomas Claudio Street to Quirino Avenue, to destination, while long and heavy trucks and trailers are advised to go on Jesus Street to Quirino Avenue to destination.
The Skyway Stage 3 project is a 14.8-kilometer elevated tollway project which connects Skyway and South Luzon Expressway – Gil Puyat Avenue to North Luzon Expressway – Balintawak under the government’s “Build, Build, Build” program initiated by former President Rodrigo Duterte.
