Singer Diego Gutierrez has recently released “Sino Na Tayo,” which marks the artist’s first time to record an all Tagalog song.

“It feels great to be able to record and release a song using a language that best expresses how my heart feels,” the young singer confesses, “As access to music becomes more global, I feel like I’ll really be able to connect deeper with local listeners while maintaining a broader, international appeal.”

When asked to explain more, the singer who is seen regularly in Asap Natin ‘To every Sunday, further clarifies: “The song is really the first time we attempted to write an all-Tagalog song. Just looking back to the music I grew up with, hearing songs in Tagalog just really felt more authentic and true to my roots. I wanted to tap into Filipino ‘hugot’ sentimentality then hopefully connect it to a wider audience with an international pop feel and arrangement.”

But what is the song about?

“The whole premise behind the track is about this realization between you and the person you love, and how time has evidently changed that connection. It’s about struggling to figure things out, where things went wrong, dropping your guard and realizing that you’re about to lose someone you want to grow old with,” Diego explains.

“That entire narrative in an all-Tagalog song over a nostalgic yet futuristic production hopefully makes feel the emotional rollercoaster I wanted to convey in the song,” he adds.

Incidentally, a music video of Diego’s song has just been completed. Shot in the beautiful scenic Caliraya and directed by Kashka Gaddi, Diego is teamed up with Anji Salvacion from Pinoy Big Brother. This is certainly another thing to watch out for.

‘Sino Na Tayo’ is about a realization between two people and how time changed their connection

“Sino Na Tayo” was produced and arranged by Mark J. Feist. The song’s lyric was written by Diego and Wilde Quimson while the music was composed by Feist under the Hitmakers Entertainment label.

“Sino Na Tayo” is now available for streaming on major streaming platforms.
