Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) have seized more than P109 million worth of illegal drugs in a series of raids conducted in two days.
In a statement, NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad said the campaign against illegal drugs “has been among the most significant battles relentlessly fought not only by the Philippine National Police (PNP), but also by other government agencies responsible for upholding peace, safety, and security of communities in the country.”
Natividad said the Manila Police District (MPD), together with operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), arrested Chinese nationals Bin Hi, 42, and Jiankang Lang, in Barangay 720, Malate, Manila in connection with the drive.
The two suspects yielded about 15 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P102 million.
On the same day, a composite team of the MPD, the Northern Police District (NPD), and the PDEA arrested Richard Allan de Asis while in possession of one kilo of suspected shabu valued at P6.8 million in a buy-bust at a restaurant inside the Quezon City Memorial Circle.
An hour later, two suspects identified as Jenneve Bolgado and Arnold Cruz were also apprehended by Quezon City policemen in another buy-bust operation on Viceroy St. in Barangay Greater Fairview.
The agents seized from the suspects about 25 grams of suspected shabu valued at P170,000.
Two more suspected drug traffickers were nabbed during a raid in Barangay Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. Police identified the suspects as Marvin dela Cruz and Pauline Garlit who were caught while in possession of shabu worth P272,000.
On the same day, five suspects identified as Gina Rubino, Rexon Reyes, Francis Caunar, Glenn Bacongallo, and Jennifer Amarille, were apprehended by the Malabon police along P. Aquino St. in Barangay Tonsuya. Seized from them were about 18 grams of suspected shabu valued at P122,400.
For its part, the Southern Police District (SPD) arrested eight suspects at No. 645 Purok 9 PNR Site FTI Compound, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City.
The suspects were identified as Alfatha Sumandal, Norhadz Ali, Arnold Milgaril, Richard Manansala, Fernan Rodriguez, Paul John Rodriguez, Ernesto Pascual, and Tony Watamama, who yielded about 51 grams of shabu worth P346,800.
Charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied against the suspects.
“These accomplishments prove that our police continue to serve and work to curb drug traffickers and sources of illegal drugs. Our dedication to the fight against illegal drugs will continue in the NCR),” Natividad said.
