The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) will come up with its first-ever coffee table book in the coming weeks to highlight its success in helping the urban poor.
“As we drift part of the last days of the Duterte administration, our Commission thought of a way to celebrate and to look back the services we delivered to the urban poor, thus is the birth of this [coffee table] book,” chairperson and chief executive officer Alvin Feliciano said.
“This book will serve as both a compilation and also a transparency report on the progress that our Commission had contributed, not just on the nation but to the lives of our urban poor – which in reality, is our main clientele,” he added.
PCUP chronicled its 2018 to 2021 era, putting focus on its relief operation efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The book included data-driven infographics and pictures, showcasing the number of its urban poor beneficiaries with its peak of 10 million Filipinos served, its programs catered for the urban poor, its brief history and more.
PCUP plans to launch the coffee book on June 27 at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.
Feliciano issued an invitation to the Office of the President, Senator Bong Go, Social and Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista, and representatives from other government agencies as well as from the Jollibee Group Foundation and Frabelle Food Corp., among others.
“We invite the public to come and join us as we unveil this legacy of our Commission and humbly take part in the history of what PCUP has done and will become in the several years from now,” he said.
