ANGELES CITY—Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. has ordered the local finance committee to immediately process the P10,000 financial assistance for the business establishment affected by a 7-hour fire in Barangay Sta. Teresita on May 15.
The financial assistance will be charged to the Office of the City Mayor.
Apart from the financial aid, Lazatin coordinated with Business Permit and Licensing Division Chief Evangeline Malonzo to assist the Triple Five Auto Supply and General Merchandise commercial establishment in claiming benefits from their fire insurance provider.
A total of 10 families were also given food packages, according to City Social Welfare and Development Officer Edna Duaso.
The families were not affected by the fire but were preemptively evacuated due to the thick smoke.
Lazatin went to the fire scene to monitor the situation with the Angeles City-Bureau of Fire Protection led by Chief Inspector Errick Derro, along with the rescue and medic team from Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Rodolfo Simeon.
“Sa [mga] pagkakataon pong ganito, agad po tayong nakatutok para kumustahin at tulungan ang mga naaapektuhan ng sakuna, lalo na po at pinagkukuhanang kabuhayan ito ng ilan sa ating mga kababayan,” Lazatin said. Butch Gunio
Lazatin commended the BFP, and volunteers for their continuous efforts for the city.
Among those who responded to the incident were Clark Development Corporation Fire Rescue; Guagua Fire Department, Macabebe Fire Department; Apalit Fire Department; Floridablanca Fire Department; San Simon Fire Department; Magalang Fire Department; Porac Fire Department; Sta. Rita Fire Department; City of San Fernando Fire Departments; Dragon Pumper Volunteer Fire Brigade and Dee Hwa Liong Volunteer Fire Brigade from Mabalacat City; Tarlac Volunteer Fire Brigade; and Angeles City Water District.
“Nais ko pong pasalamatan ang mabilis na pagresponde ng BFP, ACDRRMO, CSWDO at ng ibang fire departments and volunteer fire brigade po mula sa mga karatig-lugar,” Lazatin furthered.
Meanwhile, the ACDRRMO rescue and medic team treated an injured individual and transferred him to the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center for further treatment and evaluation.
Reports from the AC-BFP says the scene was declared fire out at 7:24 PM.
To recall, this is not the first time that the Lazatin administration ensured the welfare of constituents affected by fire.
Some ₱360,000 worth of cash assistance were given then to San Nicolas fire victims last October 2020; ₱10,000 aid was also distributed each to 7 families in Lourdes Sur East on November 2021; three families in San Jose on January 2022; seven families in Barangay Malabanias affected by a fire on February 20, 2022; and P10,000 financial assistance to the two households affected by a fire in Barangay Pandan last April 16 and 17, 2022 respectively.
