South Korean wanted for murder in Seoul faces deportation

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has ordered the deportation of a South Korean national wanted by the authorities in Seoul for alleged homicide and involvement in telecommunications fraud.

Meanwhile, BI agents nabbed another South Korean for illegally working in the country.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the fugitive as Jang Youngjin, who was arrested earlier at his residence in Cubao, Quezon City.

The other Korean, identified as Lee Mikyong, 52, was collared while working in a food mart along the Alabang Zapote Road in Las Pinas City.

Lee was reportedly overstaying and has been working without the proper permit and visa.

Jang is currently detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending his deportation.

According to BI-FSU chief Rendel Ryan Sy, Jang is the subject of a red notice from the Interpol, as well as an arrest warrant issued by the Cheongju district court in Korea in connection with a murder case. Vito Barcelo

Sy also bared that another warrant was issued against Jang by the Seoul Central District court where he was charged with running a telecom fraud syndicate that operated in China.

The syndicate members allegedly employed voice phishing in making calls to their victims in Korea whose combined losses amounted to more than 63 million won or roughly P2.6M million.
