MHD to resume vaccination drive

The Manila Health Department (MHD) will launch an aggressive vaccination drive in conjunction with the observance of the World Immunization Week  to help immunize city residents, especially the children, to ensure their protection from COVID-19 infection.

The MHD has started intensifying its immunization programs in the city’s six districts following a long period of suspension due to the COVID-19 lockdown and prohibition of face-to-face activities.

Routine programs of the MHD in health centers in Manila such as the catch-up and routine immunization of children are now continuing.

In collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), the MHD will likewise roll out a massive information campaign to promote World Immunization Week in Manila from April 24 to 30, 2022.

This is through publishing in social media accounts other media platforms its own Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, in order to provide more information to Filipinos and encourage them to redirect their attention back to the provision of primary care services such as routine immunization for children and special populations as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic and transitions to a better normal.

Vaccines have brought the Filipino people closer in several other ways, safeguarding the individuals  from dangerous and debilitating vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs).

Vaccines have also allowed Filipinos to freely gather safely, whether for work, socializing, education, or worship.
