Lawyer Alex Lopez, who is running for mayor in the City of Manila, topped a survey commissioned by the  Far Eastern Research this 7-14 April 2022.

Lopez  is the official candidate of the slate of former Senator Bongbong Marcos and presidential daughter Sara Duterte.

According to the survey results,  Lopez  gained 20,064 or 65.63 percent of the surveyed individuals.

On the other hand, Manila vice Mayor Honey Lacuna was at second place at 18.83 percent, followed by former lawmaker Amado Bagatsing (15.33 percent), Elmer Jamias (0.11 percent), and Cristy Lim (0.11 percent).

The total number of respondents was 30,571.

While in a separate survey done by  Original Matang Manila for Charity Media (OMMCM),  a volunteers group,  last 9 to 19 April this year,  Lopez  emerged victorious with 56 percent, followed by Lacuna at 32 percent; Amado Bagatsing, 7 percent; Cristy Lim, 4 percent; and Elmer Jamias, one percent.

Prior to the said survey of OMMCM,  Lopez  also arose leading at 58 percent, with 1000 respondents asked, while Lacuna trailed second at 29 percent; while those undecided was at 13 percent.

The survey was done in order to know the pulse of Manila electorates, in which the surveying entity said, the City of Manila is clamoring for a different and new face to hold the post in the said city.

“The survey results speak well. I emerged because of my clear plans and advocacy for the city,” according to  Lopez, noting that he is more than willing to answer all of the hopes and aspirations of the Manila electorates.

To recall,  Lopez  has questioned the legality of the release of food boxes as well as the P500 aid that senior citizens of the City of Manila are getting as a form of amelioration amid the spending ban imposed by the Commission on Elections.

Lopez, along with another petitioner, Bimbo Quintos, who is running for councilor in the fourth District of Manila, said the release of the food packs and the amelioration of senior citizens might influence the decision of voters in the May 9 polls.
