The Office of the City Prosecutor in Quezon City on Monday recommended the filing of grave threats against a driver for his alleged death threats against presidential frontrunner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

In a statement released by the office of Prosecutor General, the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office recommended the indictment of respondent Michael Go before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court after finding probable for the complaint filed by Marcos and Ken Romuandez.

The complainants accused Go of violating Article 282 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Romualdez and the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit filed the complaint following a tweet threatening to shoot Marcos, son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

“I was blocked by Marcos Jr. in 2016. Paki sabi magingat siya sa Tandang Sora QC. Pag dumaan siya dun babarilin ko siya. Di ako takot makulong. Hindi rin ako takot mamatay. Isang malaking karangalan ipaghiganti mga kasama ko aktibista biktima ng karahasan panahon ng martial law,” the tweet said.

A report indicated that Go turned himself in to the police authorities on Friday to clear his name. He reportedly denied the charges, saying he does not have a Twitter account.

The city prosecutor stressed that grave threat is a crime against public security.

The Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating (MRRD-NECC) on Tuesday meanwhile clarified they are supporting Marcos Jr. and Mayor Sara Duterte in the 2022 and not Manila Mayor Isko Moreno as claimed by some “minority” members.

At a news conference in Quezon City, lawyer Diosdado Padilla, the

group’s national legal counsel, said “to this day, we stand by that decision despite the opposition of few members who questioned and belittled the results of our democratic acts, particularly those claiming to support the candidacy of Aksyon Demokratiko presidential candidate.” With Rio Araja
