Erstwhile President Duterte supporter Mocha Uson made a dumbfounding move that surprised many an observer when she appeared at a town hall meeting in Kawit, Cavite with Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso at front and center.
Meanwhile, Domagoso appeared to have captured the hearts and minds of a growing number of social media enthusiasts.
“Mayor Isko, do you know that I am from Manila. And I voted for you as mayor in 2019. And in the presidential elections in May, I will switch to Isko,” Uson said in front of hundreds of cheering supporters of Team Isko.
Uson is the first nominee of Mothers for Change party-list.
Before the Kawit town hall meeting, Moreno, his running mate Dr. Willie Ong, Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial bets Dr. Carl Balita, Samira Gutoc and Jopet Sison as well as guest candidate John Castriciones held a motorcade that passed through the cities of Bacoor and Imus.
Meanwhile, social media influencers said they would rather support Domagoso, who is “shunning negative campaigning and banking on his accomplishments, programs, and platforms.”
Online media personality Dumbolicious, for example, posted a dance video while pointing out what sets Domagoso apart from other candidates.
He said he chose Domagoso because of his patriotism and sincerity as well as his priority programs such as employment, housing, and health care.
Video gamer Yuka Kuroyagi, on the other hand, will vote for Domagoso because of his accomplishments in his three-year stint as chief executive of Manila.
“Mayor Isko brought a lot of changes to Manila. There is a housing program. There are health care system, education, and the pandemic response,” she posted on her Facebook page.
Model and vlogger Sofia Miguel is also supporting Domagoso because of his efforts to make Manila better despite the ongoing pandemic.
She listed the rehabilitation of Jones Bridge and Manila Zoo as well as housing projects in Binondo and Tondo as reasons why the 48-year-old candidate is her president.
Gaming and video creator Maine Eugenio joined her fellow influencers in vouching for Domagoso and his programs on housing, education, schools, health care, and employment.
