Albert Mantua hit two birds with one stone by achieving his personal best and surpassing the SEAG bronze-medal standard in shot put, with a distance of 17.02 meters.

In high jump, Leonard Grospe’s 2.07 was his personal best.

In the second and penultimate day of the MILO-PATAFA 2022 Performance Trials Baguio leg, decathlete Janry Ubas accumulated a total of 6,973 points to win the decathlon event. Trailing him were Aries Toledo with 6,947, followed by Kasi Jeovanie with 5,626 points.

Ubas cleared 4.90 meters in the pole vault, which is his personal best to Toledo’s clearance of 4.80 meters to clinch the crucial pole vault portion of the decathlon. Aries and Janry won gold and bronze, respectively, in the 2019 SEAG giving the country a 1-3 finish in decathlon.

The highlight of the MILO-PATAFA 2022 Performance Trials was newcomer Alexie Mae Camioso going toe to toe with Sarah Dequinan in the heptathlon, which the former won, although both qualified for the 2022 SEA Games.

As the MILO-PATAFA 2022 SEA Games Performance Trials shifts to Imus at The City of Imus Grandstand and Track Oval on Sunday, February 27, 2019 SEA Games silver medalist Mark Harry Diones, 2019 SEA Games gold medalist Clinton Bautista, and comebacking athletics legend Marestella Torres Sunang, are all looking to not just win their respective events, but to qualify for the SEAG as well.

The MILO-PATAFA 2022 SEA Games Performance Trials is co-presented by Lily’s Peanut Butter and supported by Cellife Cellular Nutrition, GuanaPro-C, and Brooks.
