To end mounting speculations, Barbie Imperial recently admitted in a television interview that she and Diego Loyzaga have already called it quits. The actress didn’t elaborate on what transpired between them but she assured that they separated in good fate. Their relationship lasted for a year.
When the 23-year-old actress was asked during the virtual media con for The Goodbye Girl, which was intended as a Valentine offering for IWantTFC, though indirect, she admitted her split with her former boyfriend. Her answers to the press’ relationship questions were meaningful.
Like when she was asked on the lesson she recently learned about love, she averred: “When we hear the phrase that we should love ourselves first before we can love other people, it sounds overused, right? But based on what I experienced in my previous relationships, it’s true that you should love yourself first.”
Barbie admitted that she’s the type who gives so much when it comes to loving someone.
“Yes, to the point that I’m already consumed, yet, I continue to give. Until finally, I realized that the reason why heartbreaks happen to me repeatedly is that I don’t love myself first. It’s the same old stories with each of my boyfriends,” she admitted.
“So, I thought, what if I change the trend? You see, if you won’t love yourself, what will happen is that you’ll just go with the flow. You should love yourself first so that you’ll be whole. Your bravery and stand will be there,” she went on.
Barbie also shared that she is the type who doesn’t give up easily. But when does she feel that it’s time to say goodbye to a relationship?
“It’s just that when I feel that me and my partner are not growing together, I decide to call it quits. I mean, what’s the reason for staying if you’re not contributing to each other’s growth, right” she ended.
