Manila health workers undergo annual physical

More than a thousand employees of the Manila Health Department (MHD) started undergoing their  Annual Physical Examination (APE) in the city.

The City Government of Manila, led by Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, has prioritized health programs, not only for the city residents, but its employees as well.

City Health Officer Dr. Arnold M. Pangan, MD,  RSW, issued a memorandum directing  all MHD employees to undergo the first APE in the city to ensure that the health workers are healthy and fit to work in handling their daily responsibilities.

“It is said that the physical well-being of our employees plays a significant bearing on the effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of our basic health services.  This is the fundamental basis emphasized on the mandate of Administrative Order No. 402 S. 1998 issued by Malacanang and DOLE Department Order No. 154 Series of 2016 on Occupational Safety and Health Standards of the Philippines in the establishment of health programs for government personnel,” Pangan said.

According to Pangan, through the concerted effort of the Division of City Government Employees Clinic (CGEC)  & Specialized Services in collaboration with the Division of Public Health Laboratory, Division of Non-Communicable Diseases and Office of TB Control and Prevention, the Annual Physical Examination (APE) of all MHD employees will be

conducted on the following schedules: For Central Office-based employees, Risk Screening and Assessment will be conducted from February 7 to 11, 2022 at the CGEC office; Blood Chemistry, CBC and Urinalysis will be conducted February 8 to 10, 2022 (7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.), at the inner court; and Chest X-ray/GeneXpert will be conducted February 14, 2022, at a mobile clinic at Manila City Hall.

For Field Offices Employees, risk screening and assume the will be done in their respective district health centers of Health District Offices 1 to 6. For Field Offices Employees also, Chest X-ray/GeneXpert will be done in their respective Health Districts.

The said APE is mandatory for all MHD personnel.
