Political bigwigs in Monkayo, Davao de Oro on Monday afternoon launched the “Sara para sa Barangay” initiative to bring closer to the grassroots level the programs of government of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats vice presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
“Mayor Sara will champion the interest of grassroots folk in this historic initiative,” said Vice Governor Maricar Zamora, stalwart of the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP)
Aside from the governor, Rep. Manuel Zamora, Davao de Oro Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, mayors, board members, councilors, and other community leaders adopteda the concept of “Sara for the Barangays.”
Deputy Speaker and Surigao del Sur Rep. Prospero Pichay, Jr., Lakas-CMD secretary general, congratulated the local officials and organizers of the event that supported Duterte-Carpio, Lakas-CMD party chairperson.
“This is a very impressive event today and I am very proud that I am part of this history. Today we are launching the Sara for the Barangays. We have so many programs in the government that need barangays as partners,” said Pichay.
“Mayor Sara’s heart is for the barangays, too,” Pichay added.
“We want to inform the people in barangays, including its officials, that Mayor Sara and Bongbong Marcos have good and better programs for them,” Pichay added.
