On Saturday, Jan. 29, viewers will witness the continuation of Agimat ng Agila, the fantasy series directed by Rico Gutierrez.
In July last year, the series ended with a gripping battle between the bearers of the Agila and the Bakunawa’s mystic powers.
Now, the story continues with the adventures and misadventures of Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. as Major Gabriel Labrador who is the bearer of the powers of an enchanted eagle who sets off on various missions to battle evil forces and protect the environment.
Returning to the series is the stellar roster of cast headlined by special guest Sanya Lopez as Maya Lagman, Elizabeth Oropesa as Nanay Berta, and Benjie Paras as Sergeant Wes Dimanahan together with new cast members Gardo Versoza as Zeus Limjoco, Betong Sumaya as Sergeant Art, Kim de Leon as Jumong, Lia Salvador as Sharmaine, Sandro Muhlach as Archie, Shermaine Santiago as Carol Llamanzares, and Rabiya Mateo as Agent Asha Raj.
During the Agimat ng Agilas’s virtual press junket, Revilla said that he’s pleasantly surprised by the public’s reception of the series’ first season.
“We know how good the production was and yet I’m still surprised and happy with the way it was received by the viewers,” he said.
He added that they’re all grateful to everyone who are anticipating the upcoming season, “Nakakataba ng puso marinig ang feedback ng mga manonood na sinasabi sa akin na sobrang ganda raw ng Agimat, at nabitin sila, at hinihintay na nila ang book 2.”
After a successful first season last year, the story continues in a brand-new light with more twists and exciting characters.
Bong promises that they have intensely prepared for action-packed scenes that viewers loved from the first season, “I’m more prepared physically in book 2. I think the viewers prefer more action and that’s what we’re going to give them. If they liked book 1, I’m sure that they will like the story and the actions in book 2 even more. They will not get disappointed.”
Agimat ng Agila Book 2 premieres at 7:15 p.m. on GMA. Viewers abroad can catch it on the network’s international channel, GMA Pinoy TV.
