The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will be operating on a 60 percent on-site work capacity from January 3 to January 15 after the National Capital Region was placed under alert level 3.
In an advisory, BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said that the move was in compliance with the approved recommendation from the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) placing the NCR on Alert Level 3.
“As an effect, all BI offices in NCR shall be operating during weekdays, and will observe a 60 percent on-site work capacity, while adopting applicable alternative work arrangements,” he stated.
Prior to the announcement, the BI operated on a minimum of 50 percent to a maximum of 70 percent skeleton workforce.
Morente also announced that fully vaccinated clients remain exempted from the BI’s online appointment system, subject to the presentation of their vaccination cards or certification before entry.
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated clients, however, are still required to set their appointments online.
He added that “aliens” reporting for the Annual Report 2022 are required to secure an appointment via http://e-services.immigration.gov.ph/. He likewise enjoined the transacting public to strictly observe minimum health and safety protocols while transacting with the bureau’s offices.
