Taiwan donates $500,000 to PH for Odette relief

In order to help Filipinos affected by super Typhoon Odette (Rai) return to their normal lives, Taiwan donated $500,000 to the Philippines as disaster relief funds.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaushieh Joseph Wu presented the donation on Dec. 22 to Wilfredo B. Fernandez, chairman and resident representative of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO).

The Taiwan Association Inc. and the Love From Koten Foundation also donated P2.7 million and P2 million, respectively, in disaster relief assistance.

MECO vice chairman Eddie Tamondong received the donation at a handover ceremony held in the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines on Dec. 23.

Taiwan Representative Peiyung Hsu expressed Taiwan’s sincere condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims.
