Davao Light and Power Co., a unit of Aboitiz Power Corp., deploys five teams of linemen and equipment to Cebu City to help in the restoration of power lines toppled by Typhoon Odette. The teams and equipment are from LLM Unified Builders and Trading Corp., Power Systems Electric Coop and MINGDO, the accredited contractors of the company. The Aboitiz Group responded to calls for aid to areas in the Visayas that were badly hit by the typhoon, mobilizing food and water donations and re-energization efforts initially in Cebu. Aboitiz Foundation, the social development arm of the group, also opened an online donation campaign through its crowdfunding platform Kinder.
