
Urban poor groups from the cities of Makati, Taguig, Pasay, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas and Pateros, the lone municipality in Metro Manila, gathered in an event hosted by the city government of Parañaque to address social issues in the metropolis. The ‘Serbisyo Caravan for Peace and Development in Urban Poor Communities’ brought together various government agencies to bring their respective services closer to the people. Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez, also the current chairman of the Regional Peace and Order Council, briefed the participants that End Local Communist Armed Conflict started when President Rodrigo Duterte issued Executive Order No. 70, which institutionalizes the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace.
