Inventors Week all set at CLSU

All systems are now in place for the celebration of the 26th National Inventors’ Week by the Filipino Inventors Society Producers Cooperative in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology at the Central Luzon State University in Nueva Ecija on Nov. 18 to 21.

Other partners in the celebration are the Technology Application and Promotion Institute, the provincial government of Nueva Ecija and the Regional Inventions Contest and Exhibits. This year’s host is Region 3 with the theme “Science for the People and Inventrepinoy: Meaningful Partnership for National Development”.

Expected to grace the event are DOST Secretary Fortunato dela Pena, FISPC president Francisco “Popoy” Pagayon, Filipino Inventors Society president Manny Dono, Region 3 director Julius Caesar Sicat, TAPI director Engr. Edgar Garcia and Senate committee on science and technology chair, Sen. Nancy Binay.

The four-day event and activities are mandated under Presidential Proclamation No. 285 of 1993, which encourages them to showcase unique and marketable inventions of Filipinos for Filipinos.

To further spread its message, different state universities and colleges, other higher educational institutions and prominent individuals have been invited to participate in the activities.

CLSU particularly at the Lucio Tan Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, will be filled with invention exhibits of local inventors across the country. They will be showcasing their talents and creative ingenuity.

Pagayon bats for the global recognition and commercialization of Pinoy inventions.
