A special work-for-pay program for senior citizens was formally launched Monday at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with the signing of a Memordum of Agreement by (from left) Anak PUP Federation president Ellenor Joyce Bartolome, Ang Probinsyano Party-list Rep. Ronnie Ong, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, and PUP president Emmanuel de Guzman. The program, which will be funded by DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Disadvantaged/Displaced workers program, is an initiative of Ong, who hopes to replicate this in other state universities, public schools, and government offices nationwide.
