Jose Cuervo brings to the Philippines two beloved traditions of Mexico: tequila and Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
On October 31, the leading tequila brand staged its fourth annual Day of the Dead celebration at The Island in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Thousands came and spent the night partying to the beats of SP Espinosa, Kat DJ, and Marc Naval.
“Who needs to travel to Mexico to experience the Day of the Dead, when Jose Cuervo brings it right to Manila every year?” enthused Em Lingao, business unit head of Premier Wines and Spirits, Inc., the local distributor of Jose Cuervo in the country.
Jose Cuervo’s Day of the Dead parties are held all over the world. Día de los Muertos honors the memory of ancestors while celebrating the gift of life.
Every year, the entire country of Mexico comes out to commemorate the Day of the Dead from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. Brightly colored skulls are displayed in the home, while families and friends take to the streets to honor the living and departed in an awe-inspiring parade.
The first annual Jose Cuervo Day of the Dead party in the Philippines took place in 2016 at Green Sun Makati. The sold-out event showcased a start-studded lineup of globally and locally renowned DJs, as well as the unveiling of brand new cocktails from Jose Cuervo.
In the years since, the party has become an annual event celebrated throughout the Philippines. As one of the leading events of the Halloween season, this year’s Jose Cuervo Day of the Dead party attracted a host of attendees from the world of entertainment, such as Teejay Marquez, among others.
“Jose Cuervo’s Day of the Dead parties just get bigger and better every year!” exclaimed Xyline Lorenzana, brand manager of Jose Cuervo in the Philippines. “If this year’s party was this wild, I can only imagine what they have in store next year!”
