GARDEN OF SPRING. Kate Spade New York unveils its spring 2020 collection that features safari-inspired silhouettes reimagined in ultra-feminine fabrics, prints, and colors.

“I wanted to find the balance between functionality and style using luxe fabrics but in relaxed silhouettes and crossbody handbags in unique materials and whimsical shapes,” said Glass.

For her fifth collection for Kate Spade since taking the creative helm, Glass continues to focus on the brand codes she established in 2019 by always keeping with the core DNA in mind and staying true to the brand promise of optimistic femininity.

“I love how no two women ever wear the same thing the same way. This season is an homage to that: To be blossoming wherever you’re planted,” she enthused.

This season’s presentation was unique for the brand, as, for the first time ever, Kate Spade New York diversified its runway by inviting globally recognized actresses, influencers, and models across a range of body types and ages to walk the show and unveil the spring 2020 collection.

The fashionable affair was attended by notable actresses and influencers, including Anna Kendrick, Julia Garner, Sadie Sink, Emma Roberts, Katherine Schwarzenegger, Sun Yi, Luna Maya, Julie Estelle, Tong Bing Yu, and our very own Laureen Uy, among others.

In addition to celebrating inclusive beauty, the show celebrated nature and the beautiful garden, which been in danger of being taken over by developers. According to Kate Spade New York, 100 percent of the venue rental fee was given directly to the protection of the garden for the local community and general public to enjoy.

Guests were seated in the open air on existing benches within the park, as well as café tables and chairs that will be recycled for events around the world. Models walked down the pathway and wove throughout the sculptures and foliage to highlight the existing beauty of the space itself. Finally, the show notes were printed on seed paper allowing guests to plant them after the show.

On the spring 2020 runway, the brand also debuted its footwear collaboration with Dr. Scholl’s arriving in stores in April.
