The Standard Insurance national duathlon team was overwhelmed with joy after sweeping the recent men’s elite division at the Everly Putrajaya Trifactor International Duathlon in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was a 1-2-3 finish for the Philippines as top-caliber duathlon runner Emmanuel Commendador placed first, with Joey de los Reyes and Jarwyn Banatao placing second and third, respectively. The men’s team has been training at the New Clark Sports Complex under Triathlon Association of the Philippines coaches Melvin Fausto and Bernie Llantada. The duathlon squad will represent the Philippines in the 30th Southeast Asian Games in December to be held at the Subic Bay Freeport.
