Gilas Pilipinas will leave nothing to chance as they play to win the gold medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games men's basketball tournament.

Head coach Tim Cone said this after forming a 15-man national pool composed entirely of Philippine Basketball Association players the other day.

"This is something we don't want to lose," said Cone as he prepares the squad for the country's title-retention bid.

Players from Barangay Ginebra will form the core of the Gilas Pilipinas pool for the coming Games.

Also included in the list are Greg Slaughter, Japeth Aguilar, Scottie Thompson, LA Tenorio, Stanley Pringle, and Art Dela Cruz.

The six Ginebra cagers will prepare alongside San Miguel's June Mar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter, Chris Ross, and Christian Standhardinger.

Also added to the pool are the TnT Katropa trio of Roger Pogoy, Jayson Castro and Troy Rosario.

Completing the pool are Alaska's Vic Manuel and Matthew Wright of Phoenix.

Perez and Bolick are not in the 5×5 team after Cone said he needed experienced players to be part of the national men's pool.

And the two will instead make up the 12-man 3×3 squad pool.
