Actor and singer Ruru Madrid launched his first-ever solo single entitled “Nawawala” under GMA on Aug. 16.
The single is composed by Kettle Mata, Roger Alcantara, and Enzo Villegas. The song is described as emotional, expressing ‘hugot,’ which gives Filipino listeners delight in today’s music scene.
According to Ruru, he got a stream of emotions upon hearing the musical arrangement. He shares that there is a lesson behind the lyrics.
“The first time it was given to me, I was really surprised. I felt the emotions of the song almost instantly. Everytime na may ginagawa tayo sa buhay natin, i-aapply natin ‘yung mga natutunan natin sa past,” Ruru said if the song.
The Kapuso star attributes his early musical influence to his dad who used to be a member of a band when he was young. He has had previous recordings including “Let the Love Begin,” the theme song of the GMA primetime series with the same title and “Sa Yakap Mo” for the primetime soap Sherlock Jr., both in duet with Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia.
The music video of “Nawawala” is directed by Miggy Tanchanco, featuring Kapuso star Kelley Day. Catch it on GMA Music’s social media pages and on digital streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
