XONARA embraces pressure as 1Z Entertainment’s first P-pop girl group

Fresh off their official debut, members of the P-pop girl group XONARA expressed their hope to build a name in the music industry through authenticity and a shared passion for music, a new group under 1Z Entertainment.

Composed of Eurekah, Ella, Dominique, Tin, Megumi, Lei, and Namie, the seven-member act officially debuted on May 16 with the launch of XONARA’S WORLD in Escolta and the release activities surrounding its first track, “Tabi.”

Before its debut, XONARA had already drawn attention through performances at Aurora Music Festival and during SB19’s Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Finale concert, where the members introduced their self-written material to a large audience.

Speaking to some reporters at the Aurora Music Festival earlier this month, the members admitted they were still adjusting to the growing attention from fans, including supporters of SB19 known as A’TIN.

“Actually, nakaka-overwhelm po siya pero grabe po ’yung blessings na na-re-receive po namin. And we really, really appreciate the support po,” Lei told Manila Standard Entertainment.

“Super na-fi-feel po namin kung gaano kami ka-blessed. Kaya super grateful po namin sa lahat po ng sumusuporta. Hindi rin po kami makapaniwala na we’re living the dream na,” Tin added.

XONARA said they want to establish themselves as artists deeply involved in their own music and creative identity.

“We would want to be known as a group of artists who put their heart, their soul into their music,” Ella shared, recalling how their journey started from “writing in a room” before eventually recording in a studio.

The members also pointed to their different personalities and influences as part of the group’s identity.

“If you look at us seven, we’re very, very distinct from each other, who have their own preferences. But reunite as one with our dream, with our goal, and it all points down to our love for music and our artistry,” Megumi said.

As the first girl group launched by 1Z Entertainment, XONARA acknowledged the pressure attached to the debut.

“To be honest, sobra-sobrang nakaka-pressure. Pero feeling ko naman po all throughout this journey, hindi talaga siya mawawala,” Namie admitted.

“Na-pe-pressure po kami but at the same time, it’s a good pressure. Kasi kung ano po ’yung goal ng 1Z Entertainment, ng SB19, same din po ’yun ng goals ng XONARA, which is to uplift P-pop and OPM,” Eurekah added.
