Makati Mayor Abby Binay (right) listens intently to David Nufrio, acting commercial officer of the United States Commercial Service, the trade promotion agency of the US Embassy, as Nufrio conveys the interest of the US Government to team up with the Makati City Government in pursuing Smart City initiatives. During a courtesy visit to the mayor on Tuesday, the US official also said his office will be assisting American information and communications technology companies that want to do business in the Philippines, particularly in Makati. Binay said the city welcomed the opportunity to work with the US Government in promoting economic growth as well as sustainable and inclusive development.
